New Museum Nearing Completion

The Foundation’s new museum building is nearing completion, and is due to be handed over to the Foundation in October 2018.
The new museum, to be known as the Housemuseum Galleries, will open to the public with its inaugural exhibition in February 2019.


Scale Model of New Museum Building on Display

A scale, cut-away model of the Foundation's new museum building is currently on display in the main foyer of the City of Boroondara's Town Hall Gallery. The new museum building will feature large, 5.5m high exhibition spaces, an archival storage facility and a cafe for museum patrons. The new building will open to the public in early 2018.

Geotechnical testing work has commenced on the site of the Foundation's new museum at 217 Cotham Road, Kew in preparation for construction work to begin in July/August 2016.


Launch Event for New Museum Building

A launch event was held on 12 November 2015 on the site of the Foundation's future museum building at 217 Cotham Road, Kew. Foundation Chair Corbett Lyon presented final plans for the new public museum building which is scheduled to begin construction in early 2016. The Foundation also announced a three year fundraising appeal with a target of $250,000 with funds used to commission and equip the new museum building.


A New Public Museum Building

The Foundation Board is preparing plans for the construction a new public museum to house and display the works in its permanent Collection. The new building will be constructed on land owned by the Foundation at 217 Cotham Road in Kew. Construction of the new building is expected to commence in 2016 with the museum opening to the public in mid to late 2018.
